W.O.W. Words

The first graders in my classroom will be introduced to five new sight words each week. These words are taken from the Plymouth-Canton Schools Language Arts Curriculum list of first grade sight words. The students will practice these words every day and will refer to them often once they are up on the word wall. The students will be expected to spell the word wall words correctly in their writing because they can easily reference them. By the end of the year, the kids will be sight word experts!

  * The words with stars contain chunks that will help the children spell and read other words containing that chunk.
