Thanks a bunch to everyone who sent in items for our partner school in Cedarville.

Cold Stone Field Trip

Our walking field trip is Monday.  Please have your child wear his/her class t-shirt.  You have already paid for the ice cream, so no need to send anymore money with your child on this day.  If you volunteered to come, please meet us at the classroom at 12:30.  We will leave at 12:40.  No siblings, please.  Come prepared for the weather…as of this writing, weather.com says it will be partly sunny with a high of 53 degrees.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me over the weekend.

Bi-Weekly Reports

I will send these home on Monday.  I ran out of time to fill them out by the end of school today!

WOW Words

This week’s WOW words were rain, teacher, quit, pretty & thing.  Our chunk was –ing.

Reading

We continued to infer this week using the stories The Giving Tree  and Two Bad Ants.  On St. Patrick’s Day we read a story about the Blarney Stone and then made a book to take home.

Writing

The children worked on their first draft of their How-To books this week.  We will work on final copies next week and have them on display for the Writing Celebration Night on the 25th.

Math

On Thursday the children took the Unit 6 assessment.  I will check these over the weekend and send them home on Monday.

Pumpkin Sitters

I am still in need of some Pumpkin Sitters for weekends in May and June.  Let me know if you can help.  Thanks!

Teacher Swap Day

As part of our March is Reading Month activities, all Workman students participated in a Teacher Swap activity.  Ask your child what s/he did.
